Concepción, Bolivia —
October 2025 —
Exomad Green has announced the expansion of its Concepción facility, marking a major milestone in its mission to scale carbon removal and sustainable biomass management. Originally launched in 2023, the facility began operations with three advanced pyrolysis reactors, producing 25,000 tonnes of biochar per year and capturing 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
With the addition of four new production lines, the Concepción plant now operates seven in total. The new lines add approximately 33,000 tonnes of additional biochar production per year and 80,000 tonnes of additional carbon capture capacity, bringing the facility’s total to 58,000 tonnes of biochar and 140,000 tonnes of CO₂ captured annually.
Driving Local Growth and Environmental Impact
The expansion not only strengthens Exomad Green’s leadership in carbon dioxide removal but also contributes directly to the economic and social development of Concepción. The project will generate new local jobs and create broader opportunities in the surrounding region.
Exomad Green continues to expand its biochar donation program, which channels the company’s entire biochar output to local farmers and indigenous communities. These donations support efforts to enhance soil health, and build long-term ecological resilience throughout the region.
About Exomad Green
Exomad Green partners with over 50 vetted sawmills across Bolivia, collecting sustianable forestry residues as our biomass, that was once incinerated and transforming it into high-quality biochar through advanced pyrolysis technology. This process locks carbon safely into stable form for hundreds of years, while providing tangible environmental and community benefits.
The company currently operates two active facilities with a third facility under development set to come online in 2026. Exomad Green’s long-term goal is to reach one gigaton of CO₂ removal per year by 2027, positioning itself as a global leader in sustainable carbon capture through biochar.
